i'm also croatian, and a fan of CC since the Croatian Tigar days...
i'll always root for him, but i don't always support his actions. I'm not going into his politics, movies and moves in croatia regarding media, his manager and other BS. i'm talking about career moves.
the camp policy is his biggest flaw. Not having a proper trainer continuously - that's just shameful. He fired Božić, brother of Stjepan Bozic, middleweight WBF boxing champ while he (CC) was a beast with his hands. Bozic teached him things seen in his fights against Bonjasky, Bob Sapp, Coleman, Aleks and numerous others...
After his "i don't need nobody" stint and having people like Werdum and Lister come to Croatia and spar with him he returned to Marijan Zizanovic (last trainer, besides Hyppolite the only person he ever let yell at him (like a trainer should)). Have a damn consistent approach. Train like other people, learn from others, learn from yourself, admit that you don't know certain things, no shame in that...
Marijan at the end refused to work with him because he doesn't take orders or lessons. Marijan also coached him when he was in K-1, and Marijan let him go then because he refused to use knees, he just didn't like fighting with them (check out his Aerts fights, did some REAL damage with knees).
having yes-people around him. A big mistake. He just doesn't know how much he can or can not take with that kind of people around him.
Refusing to follow the tactics. Stubborn. Hunt fight is a typical example. No need to elaborate.
Not realizing his own strenghts. His hands... damn, that guy is as strong as an ox. Don't know how many people noticed, but Junior was in trouble a couple of times when Mirko cought him. But he failed to do the punches in buches. Look at Aleks fight, Coleman fight, Wandy fight, Barry fight... and yet he doesn't utilize the combinations as often as he should. Relying on LHK, c'mon, everyone sees it coming...
i've heard romours also on the trainings, like punching one kids' (15yo) teeth out because he went a bit stronger on him.
don't have time now, but i'm gonna come back to this thread, i just feel so sorry he lost it, and that he's still an arrogant guy who refuses to admit to himself his own faults and refuses to accept who he really is.
